Hard To Find Outboard Motor Parts

A few months back, I took the wife and kids out on the water when I noticed the outboard motor was beginning to sputter and seemed to have some sort of a issue. I could see periodic spurts of fuel floating away on the water. The boat’s motor was still running, so we stayed out for the remainder of the afternoon, however I knew I was going to need to appear into the problem so we wouldn’t get stranded someday later on.

My motorboat has a 1995 Evinrude E100WTLEOC, a four-stroke engine having a carburetor. I figured the fuel/air combination was becoming inconsistent, therefore I instantly believed carburetor. I consider myself a bit of a tinkerer, so I took out the carburetor and took it apart, however I couldn’t actually find something wrong with any of the parts. Just down the street here in Tampa is a tiny boat repair shop. I figured would be able toI could just go in and purchase the component, or they could no less than order it for me. But they didn’t have any 16-year-old fuel manifolds and their supplier didn’t have them either. No huge deal, it is a tiny shop. I’ll just locate a nationally certified Evinrude outboard motor dealer. So I get out the yellow pages, locate a store and head more than there to purchase the component. Guess what? They don’t have it either, and neither did their suppliers.

I’m a bit miffed when I get home, so I get on the computer and begin seeking on-line, figuring it can’t be that challenging to locate outboard motor parts.

It was so effortless to select the year of my engine, then the horsepower of my engine, then the model number of my motor, then the fuel pump category. The web site then brought up a page that had a detailed spec drawing of the whole fuel pump program as well as a list of all of the parts included. Speak about easy. I started wondering why the dolts in the repair shop and the dealership couldn’t do this themselves.

I just added the fuel manifold to my cart and checked out. Now I realize exactly where to go if I want any more parts for my 1995 outboard motor, and I won’t even need to leave my home.
