State wants to shutter brine treatment facility (bizjournals)
Three state agencies are trying to shut down a northeast Ohio business that
filters the byproduct of drilling for oil and natural gas before sending it to
a local water treatment plant, The Vindicator in Youngstown reports. The Ohio
Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Natural Resources and the
Governor’s Office all say that state rules are clear on how to dispose of
brine, a salty byproduct of oil and natural gas exploration that includes
sand, chemicals and water, the newspaper reports…
